Two Springs

This site is more than a scenic resort—it’s a sacred landscape marked by centuries of American Indian presence. Tucked between two sandstone cliffs and nourished by a year-round clean water source, the site was vital for Indigenous communities for thousands of years. Carvings in the stone, known as petroglyphs, still remain—images of geese, turkey feet, and human-like “Watchers” placed to guard the spring and its visitors.

These carvings weren’t just art—they were spiritual expressions and functional markers. The “Two Suns” symbol speaks of prophecy and change, while the Watchers were believed to house protective spirits called upon by the Medicine Man.
