Big Island, located in Canada, is a site of remarkable ancient significance, revealing deep cultural and spiritual connections to the land and sky. Dating back to the late Hopewell period, the island features a massive burial mound measuring an impressive 150 feet long, 50 feet wide, and 22 feet high. This mound is not only a resting place for the dead but also a celestial marker—its alignment with a nearby solstice marker stone suggests it was used in seasonal rituals and ceremonies tied to the sun’s movement.

Surrounding a nearby lake, six distinct petroglyphs have been carved into the stone, silently echoing the voices of those who lived here long ago.
